SEND- Aims and Equal Access in Art and Design
Aims- How are we providing an ambitious curriculum for all pupils, including SEND, allowing them all to make progress from their individual starting points?
  • Be ambitious of what our SEND children can achieve. 
  • Art allows children to make links and explore all their learning from across the curriculum in a creative way.
  • Teachers will provide all children included SEND children the opportunity to allow for their own individual creativity and excel.
Equal access - How are we adapting  each subject in order to help all pupils, including those with SEND, to make progress from their starting point?
  • Front cover sheets provide support for children to revisit the vocabulary and key learning taught so far. 

  • Additional resources are available to enable children to take responsibility for their own learning and to help build their confidence.

  • Teachers aim to spend a few minutes with the children to embed learning further.

  • Flexibility of extending time for children with SEND.
