Gardening Club

1st May 2013

Last week saw our first gardening club session. 19 children worked with staff and volunteers to make a start on preparing containers for new plants, putting in new seeds and tidying the school grounds.

The children have planted two rows of potatoes, one of which was an early variety and one was a main crop. Peas have been planted in our raised beds, the onion patch has been weeded and hanging baskets have been planted up.

We have been delighted with the kind donations from parents of seeds and small plants, these will all contribute to our green spaces and any surplus stock will be made available to parents later in the summer.

Over the this term we will be planting more salad crops, summer flowers and vegetables. We will try and keep the website updated with the latest images.
